Old Flags

Veterans Services Office

Old and worn American flags should never be thrown in the trash.  They should never be burned in your back yard.  Give them to either a civic organization or veterans’ organization that conducts a dignified disposal ceremony.  The Veterans’ Service Officer at Town Hall has a box for old flags.

Town Medical Alert

Residents with special medical needs or disabilities can sign up, on a voluntary basis, for a medical alert list.  During emergency situations, such a severe weather events and loss of power, the town’s emergency services would like to know who might need special medical consideration, particularly those with oxygen dependency, ventilators, mobility issues, seizure disorders, visual or hearing impairment, etc. Parents or guardians of those with special needs or developmental disabilities are also encouraged to sign up.  Patient privacy laws pertain to any information provided.
