The Blanding offers museum passes offering discounted admission for adults and children.  All you need to do is reserve the pass by calling or dropping by. Other passes may be available through other SAILS libraries.

FRIENDS OF THE BLANDING LIBRARY

The Friends of the Library is a registered non-profit organization and volunteer group supporting the work of the Blanding Library. The Friends is a separate organization from the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society, the non-profit that owns and operates Goff Memorial Hall, Blanding Library and Carpenter Museum. Annual dues for membership in the Friends of the Library are:

$10 for family/household

$25 for contributing members

$50 for supporting members

GINGERBREAD HOUSE AFTERNOONS

Tuesday, December 12 from 3:30 to 5 PM

Wednesday, December 13 from 3:30 to 5 PM

This popular annual program is offered to children ages 5 years and up.  Come to the library to build your dream gingerbread house. Sponsored by the Friends of the Blanding Library, supplies will be provided, but donations of decorations will be gratefully received -- gummies, wafer cookies, pretzels, NO nuts or chocolate please).  Space is limited. YOGA FOR FAMILIES CLASS

Friday, December 15 from 10 to 11 AM

This free parent-child wellness event is sponsored by the PACE Child Care Works, part of the Child Care Resource and Referral Affiliates of Southeastern Massachusetts. The class offers yoga instruction for parents with children, birth through age 8. Funded in part by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. LYME DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP

SUNDAY NIGHT JAMMERS NEW YEAR’S EVE COMMUNITY DANCE

Sunday, December 31 from 8 to midnight in Goff Memorial Hall

Live music by the Jammers for contra dance and a variety of international and couple dances such as polkas and waltzes. Free and open to the public. All ages and beginners are welcome. It is not necessary to come with a partner.  Please wear soft-soled shoes. Musicians welcome, so bring your instrument. Everyone is asked to bring something for a dessert potluck on New Year’s Eve.
