FRIENDS OF THE BLANDING LIBRARY

The Friends of the Library is a registered non-profit organization and volunteer group supporting the work of the Blanding Library. The Friends is a separate organization from the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society, the non-profit that owns and operates Goff Memorial Hall, Blanding Library and Carpenter Museum. Annual dues for membership in the Friends of the Library are:

$10 for family/household

$25 for contributing members

$50 for supporting members

ITSY BITSY BEINGS

Monday, August 21 at 11 AM

Make your own insects, microbes, plankton and tiny sculptures of all kinds in this assembly workshop for kids in grades 4 through 12.  Green Art Workshop presents an engaging re-use program that sparks imaginations to take root!  Discover how to turn wire, e-waste, and screws, plus odd and ends to create real and imaginary creatures.

NO SNOW BALL FUNDRAISER - REHOBOTH CONTRA DANCE

Friday, August 25 at 8 PM in Goff Hall

Caller Lisa Greenleaf will lead all dances with preselected iPod music. Beginners of all ages, singles, couples, and families are welcome to attend the dances held at Goff Memorial Hall from 8 to 11 PM. Partners not necessary. Dances will be taught by caller. ART HISTORY: EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL & SOCIAL CATALYSTS

Friday, September 1 from 7 to 8 PM

A free art history session presented to the community by Rehoboth resident Kellyann Erskine. The slide lecture will present the world’s most marvelous artists throughout history and give insights into their interesting personal lives.  All are invited to attend. Pre-registration not required. 


REHOBOTH CONTRA DANCE - OPENING DANCE OF 36th SEASON

Friday, September 8 at 8 PM in Goff Hall

Caller Steve Zakon-Anderson will lead the opening dance of our 36th season with live music by Glen Loper and Friends. Beginners of all ages, singles, couples, and families are welcome to attend the dances held at Goff Memorial Hall from 8 to 11 PM. Partners not necessary. Dances will be taught by caller. General admission: $9; $8 for students; $5 for under 16s; $20 for families with children under 16; $5 for latecomers.  Home-made tasty treats for the break are always appreciated. SUNDAY NIGHT JAMMERS COMMUNITY DANCE

Sunday, September 10 from 6 to 8 in Goff Hall

Live music by the Jammers for contra dance and a variety of international and couple dances such as polkas and waltzes. Free and open to the public. All ages and beginners are welcome. It is not necessary to come with a partner.  Please wear soft-soled shoes. Musicians welcome, so bring your instrument. A potluck precedes the dance at 6 PM. ARTS IN THE VILLAGE CLASSICAL CONCERT SERIES

THE PROMETHEUS DUO

Doors open at 7 PM for the first concert of the 2017-2018 Season of Arts in the Village with the Prometheus Duo featuring pianist Marko Stuparevic and saxophonist Joseph Abad. Their program will feature a sensual blend of contemporary works and those from the classical music canon.  Tickets are $18 adults; $16 seniors; $8 children.
